Invisalign vs. Spark Clear Aligners

Both aligner brands use clear plastic but differ in materials: one uses SmartTrack with “buttons” for better grip, while the other uses gentler, more comfortable TruGen. The second brand’s aligners, made of medical-grade polyurethane resin with hand-trimmed edges, are more comfortable than the first, which can cause some gum discomfort. The second brand is available only through licensed dental professionals, while the first is more widely accessible. The first brand is generally more expensive due to its features and financing options, while the second is more affordable with fewer features. The second brand’s aligners are also more stain-resistant and transparent, making them less visible than the first.

How Do Aligners Work?

Consultation
During your initial consultation at Ora Dent, our experienced orthodontic team will evaluate your teeth and determine if aligners or Invisalign are the best option for you.
Impressions
If aligners or Invisalign is the right choice for your individual needs, we will take impressions of your teeth to create a customized treatment plan.
Fitting
Once your aligners or Invisalign trays are ready, we will fit them to your teeth and provide instructions on how to wear and care for them.
Follow-up
You will need to come in for follow-up appointments every few weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned and to receive new trays as needed.

Proper Care for Your Aligners

Avoid using toothpaste, hot water, or mouthwash, as these can damage the trays. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and lukewarm water to gently brush the trays inside and out. Soak your trays once a day using specialized cleaning products, such as Invisalign cleaning crystals or denture cleaner. Alternatively, mix equal parts warm water and hydrogen peroxide and soak your trays in the solution for 30 minutes before rinsing them off. Always follow your orthodontist’s specific instructions for cleaning and caring for your aligners.
